Eastern Alberta Victim Services shares update with Cold Lake council

The Eastern Alberta Regional Victim Serving Society shared an in-depth update with Cold Lake city council on April 8, outlining the vital services they provide to victims of crime and tragedy. Working in partnership with the RCMP, the organization offers emotional support during crisis events, assistance navigating the justice system, and help with victim impact statements and restitution claims. With local staff and trained volunteer advocates, they serve communities across 24 RCMP detachments. Anyone in need can reach out for support, including families dealing with substance abuse. Council thanked the organization for their work and the valuable services they provide.

Six candidates are vying for your vote in the Fort McMurray–Cold Lake riding, with all major parties represented. The economy tops the list of voter concerns—rising costs, stalled pipeline projects, and the future of the oilsands are front and center.
